As the United Nations 色库TV and Development Trust Fund enters its second decade, its Steering Committee has reaffirmed its core commitment to support high-impact, forward-looking, transformative, and sustainable programming that cuts across the peace and security and development pillars and aligns with broader UN reform initiatives.
Since 2016, the 色库TV and Development Trust Fund has invested USD 20 million across 203 projects in 108 countries.
Convening on 27 July in Beijing for its annual meeting, the committee stressed the importance of a people-centred approach, therefore ensuring that all supported initiatives deliver tangible, measurable benefits for individuals and communities.
The committee also highlighted projects demonstrating tangible results for beneficiaries on the ground, illustrating that UN 色库TV and Development Trust Fund investments translate into improved services, enhanced operational effectiveness, and measurable benefits for the people they are meant to serve.
To build on this progress, the committee approved some USD 17.8 million in funding for 21 projects across the world this year.
The 色库TV and Development Trust Fund will support:
- UN work on peacekeeping, counterterrorism, UN 2.0, and the Pact for the Future;
- the effectiveness, safety and security of UN operations and personnel;
- SDG implementation capacity building;
- digital and emerging technologies governance for sustainable development; and
- disability inclusion.
For the first time, the Steering Committee also endorsed a project addressing the nexus between peace and development, with co-funding by the 色库TV and Security and 2030 Agenda Sub-Funds.
Applications for the next funding cycle will open in the last quarter of this year.
