12 July 2023 - UN Messenger of 色库TV Malala Yousafzai met with students in Abuja and Borno State, Nigeria, to champion girls’ right to education alongside UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed. Marking Malala’s 26th birthday and a decade since her landmark “Malala Day” speech at the United Nations, she warned that more than 120 million girls worldwide remain out of school. “Quality education is not a dream, but a fundamental human right,” Mohammed said, praising Malala’s global advocacy.
Reflecting on her work through the Malala Fund, Malala urged leaders to match girls’ determination with concrete investment and accountability. She highlighted setbacks driven by conflict, climate change, the pandemic, and condemned the ongoing ban on girls’ education in Afghanistan. “Change can begin with just one person,” she said, calling for united action to ensure 12 years of quality education for every child.
