  {"id":315799,"date":"2026-02-13T14:22:33","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T19:22:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/?post_type=document&#038;p=315799"},"modified":"2026-03-05T14:41:02","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T19:41:02","slug":"lifesaving-aid-continues-despite-restrictions-in-gaza-ocha-press-release","status":"publish","type":"document","link":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/lifesaving-aid-continues-despite-restrictions-in-gaza-ocha-press-release\/","title":{"rendered":"Lifesaving aid continues despite restrictions in Gaza &#8211; OCHA press release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>13 February 2026<\/p>\n<p>Four\u00a0months since\u00a0the Gaza ceasefire agreement came into effect,\u00a0the humanitarian scale-up has saved countless lives and pushed\u00a0back famine, OCHA said today.<\/p>\n<p>However, many survivors remain in extremely harsh conditions and the humanitarian response face significant obstacles, especially to the entry of goods and the ability of humanitarian partners to operate.<\/p>\n<p>Almost 1.5 million people &#8211; two in every three Palestinians in Gaza &#8211; are staying in 1,000 displacement sites that are often overcrowded, and in tents that offer no privacy and little protection from the weather. Hundreds of families take shelter in damaged buildings at risk of collapse.<\/p>\n<p>Humanitarian partners continue to provide tents and tarpaulins as well as mattresses, clothes and other items, reaching more than 85,000 families in January. But these items offer limited protection and their lifespan is short. To provide more\u202fdurable\u202fsolutions, restrictions on the entry of essential construction materials and equipment must be lifted.<\/p>\n<p>This week, partners working on water, sanitation and hygiene distributed about 20,000 cubic metres of drinking water every day through more than 2,000 distribution points across the Strip.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, humanitarian movements inside Gaza continue to require coordination with Israeli authorities, especially where Israeli forces remain deployed.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the UN attempted to coordinate eight humanitarian missions, five of which were fully facilitated.
