Mohammed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WHAT: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Launch of <em>the Financing for Sustainable Development Report 2024 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Financing challenges are at the heart of the current sustainable development crisis. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing geopolitical tensions and intensifying climate shocks, financing gaps are widening. The <em>2024 Financing for Sustainable Development Report: Financing for Development at a Crossroads<\/em> is expected to urgently call for the world to close a trillions of dollars financing gap and reform a global financial system which is not fit for the challenges of the 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 <em>Financing for Sustainable Development Report, <\/em>issued by the UN Secretary-General\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/developmentfinance.un.org\/about-iatf\">Inter-Agency Task Force on Financing for Development<\/a>, is expected to offer concrete recommendations to scale up investments in the SDGs and recover lost ground. It includes the input of the over 60 United Nations Agencies and other international institutions that form the <a href=\"https:\/\/developmentfinance.un.org\/about-iatf\">Inter-agency Task Force on Financing<\/a> for Development.<\/li>\n<li>The full report will be available on:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/financing.desa.un.org\/iatf\/fsdr2024\">https:\/\/financing.desa.un.org\/iatf\/fsdr2024<\/a> on 9 April 2024.<\/li>\n<li>This report is the basis for discussions at the UN ECOSOC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/development\/desa\/financing\/what-we-do\/ECOSOC\/financing-development-forum\/FFD-forum-home\">Forum on Financing for Development<\/a> follow up, for government officials and other stakeholders, from 22 to 25 April 2024.
