The?programme?helps to develop the capacities of local governments and institutions to mitigate disaster-related insecurities in?10 urban communities living in vulnerable conditions in Mauritania and Tunisia. Backed with evidence from disaster resilience?assessments, the?programme?focuses on: (i) establishing risk sensitive action plans that take into account social, environmental,?political, health and economic risks as highlighted through a people-centered human security lens; and (ii) localizing disaster?risk reduction efforts through innovative partnerships that place communities and their survival, livelihood and dignity – i.e.,?their human security –?as central?to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.???
